Grooming Guidelines “Head to Toe”

Costume Checks & Recitals

Aerial Hair Styles by Class!!

·         ALL classes: Low Bun, No Part.

·         Advanced Aerialists/Soloists: Please See your Instructors for hair styles.

*Remember: LOTS OF GEL & HAIR SPRAY, if the hair can move, you still need MORE!

1.      Use bobby pins and hair nets to secure buns.( Anything in the hair must match the color of the hair.)

2.      Makeup should be applied lightly as not to satin our beautiful silks. Makeup requirements are: Light foundation and blush. Black mascara. White, Blue & Grey glitter eye shadows and Red colored LIP STAIN!!! are to be worn by all students.

3.      AERIALISTS – MUST WEAR LIP STAIN!!! Please wear 24-hour lasting lipstick, regular lipstick will permanently stain our beautiful performance silks.

*Please, no extra sparkles or glitter.

4.      Please remove all jewelry, colored band aids & nail polish. For students with newly pierced ears, place a flesh-colored band aid over the earrings.

5.      No underwear for anyone wearing tights. If you’re not wearing tights, you will need to wear Nude color – No Show, underwear to wear underneath your costume.

6.      Aerialists MUST ARRIVE IN THEIR COSTUMES and leave in costumes. Aerialists with 2 costumes will be allowed to use our office as a changing space and should arrive in their first costume and leave in their last costume. The bathroom must only be used for going to the bathroom. We only have one.

Any grooming questions may be directed to class instructors.

Costume Check Week!

May 13th-18th.

  • Costume check is at A Dance Vision by Nicole.

  • Costume Checks will be done during your regularly scheduled classes.

  • One Parent should accompany each dancer.

 TIGHTS

Please make sure your dancers ALREADY HAVE all have the correct tights listed. Tights are listed by class/day & time.

 HAIR, MAKEUP AND COSTUMES

-Please arrive with your dancer’s hair, makeup and costume already in place. See “Grooming Guidelines” to see your aerialists hair and makeup requirements.

AERIALISTS MUST WEAR LIP STAIN (NO REGULAR LIPSTICK)

 ARRIVAL!!

- Arrive in full hair and makeup with your first costume already on!

- Costume checks are done during your normal class times. Arrive to your class on time.

- Aerialists SHOULD bring ONE ADULT (NO SIBLINGS) to costume check.

- Costume checks are all done during your regular class times, and Aerialists are free to go home once the costume check is done and the teacher releases them.

- Don't forget to clearly label all accessories with your Aerialists initials, cut off all costume tags, and keep all your costume pieces together.

Aerial Recital – Saturday June 15th

We will have FIVE Shows on Saturday, June 15th at ADV

Show times -TBA

1.      Aerialists will all be assigned a show!

2.      Aerialists in multiple shows (advanced aerialists/soloists) will be assigned 1 show to purchase tickets. This is to allow maximum amount of seats per family. If they are in multiple shows you may have to drop off and come back for “their show”, or come back to pick them up, if they perform in multiple shows. Siblings/cousins will be grouped into the same shows whenever possible.

3.      Each show will have HIGHLIGHTED aerialists. If your aerialist/class is highlighted, THAT is the show you may purchase tickets to. But their class may appear in additional shows to only perform in, not purchase tickets to.

4.      Aerialists must arrive already dressed in their first costume at arrival and leave in costume. Audience seating will open at the time of drop off for each show. There is NO SEAT SAVING.

5.      We do ask that after each show you exit the studio so that we may set up for the next show.

6.      Aerialists will remain in our upstairs dance room during the entire show under adult supervision. Chaperones will be getting students “backstage” on time, returning them to the upstairs room, and taking care of their needs. Please put names on costumes and accessories to avoid any mix-up.

7.      No jewelry is to be worn. No underwear is to be worn. Secure all headpieces with bobby pins.

8.      Students and Chaperones will not be allowed in the audience during the shows. At the end of the show all the students will be brought into the audience to find their families.

9.      VIDEOS will be permitted during the recital. BUT NO FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY. It is for the safety of the aerialists and the consideration of the audience.

10.      Please be prompt for all the times given.
